Tools born from practice
Software development has always fascinated me, probably because it combines curiosity, problem-solving, and the simple satisfaction of building something yourself. I often reach a point where I wonder why a certain tool doesn’t exist yet — especially in audio, where I might be looking for a particular workflow, perspective, or combination of features that I simply can’t find elsewhere. What I love about software is that, if you have a clear enough idea of how something should work, you can actually build it. That curiosity gradually led me into programming. I learned it piece by piece over the years, through experimentation and by turning ideas into working tools. Over time, this slightly nerdy side of mine has resulted in a number of genuinely useful applications.
Independent audio software
Under the name Fehrenberg Audio, I develop tools for music production and audio processing. The focus is on concepts that go beyond reproducing established workflows and offer new perspectives on dynamics, sound and spatial processing.

Dynamics rethought

Spatial workflow
A multi-instance panning system that freely combines level and delay panning and makes the spatial positions of multiple instances editable from one shared interface.
Developed for Georg Neumann GmbH
A couple of years ago I developed the Recording Tools App for Georg Neumann GmbH. It calculates and visualizes microphone arrangements for stereo recording techniques, connecting recording theory with an immediately usable visual representation.
Curiosity, made useful
Alongside my audio software work, I sometimes build smaller apps and experiments—often out of curiosity or because I wanted to use a particular tool myself.

A fast, intuitive way to create custom staff paper for handwriting music—from oversized teaching staves to seven-line guitar tablature—ready to print or write on directly on iPad.
