Project
I’m deeply grateful to have met the brilliant Syrian musicians Ayman Hlal and Wesam Karama — and even more grateful that we now get to share the stage on a regular basis. Together, we founded "Tawabil Project", first as a trio where Middle Eastern music, jazz, and flamenco meet. It’s the kind of project that somehow feels very Berlin: a city where musicians from completely different backgrounds cross paths, exchange ideas, and create something that probably wouldn’t exist in quite the same way anywhere else. We’re often joined by the wonderful singer Hussam Al Ali, adding yet another voice and color to the music. Our repertoire includes original compositions by Ayman Halal and myself, shaped by improvisation, different musical traditions, and the energy that happens when all of those worlds come together on stage. .
